Managing Multiple Chronic Illnesses

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that one in four Americans lives with more than one chronic illness; and three out of four of them are 65 and older.  Caring for people with Multiple Chronic Diseases (MCD) is a challenge for healthcare professionals.  Conflicts between medication and doctors that do  not talk to one another are commonplace.  Managing multiple medications and their side effects is difficult and can be dangerous.  Conflicting advice from specialists can be confusing.  While personal physicians work hard to manage this, it is the responsibility of the patient to take charge of their own care.  If you or someone you love has MCD and are feeling overwhelmed managing the care, please call McKenney Home Care.  We have trained nurses on staff who can help you manage this efficiently.
