Diabetes is a group of diseases characterized by high blood glucose levels that result from defects in the body’s ability to produce and/or use insulin. The disease is generally characterized as four different types, Prediabetes, Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes. Research indicates that Pre Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes are largely caused by lifestyle choices and can be prevented or controlled through adjustments to diet and activity levels.
