Announcing Agency Re Accreditation and License Renewal

We are pleased to report that McKenney Home Care has been Re-Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).  ACHC  is a nationally recognized not for profit accreditation organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986.  The Surveyor commented on how well McKenney Home Care was being run.  Along with the Accreditation, our Agency License was renewed by ACHA, the Agency for Health Care Administration in Florida.  We thank our Director of Nursing Kate Cawthorne and our entire team for making this possible.  We look  forward to continuing our Mission of providing Client Centered Care in a Compassionate and Competent Manner.
Why is the Accreditation important?
An accredited Home Health Agency provides caregivers that are W-2 employees, pays for Workmen’s Compensation Insurance, provides nursing oversight and management and sees to the Aides continued education.  You will have a healthcare team.
How else can you hire home healthcare?
You can work with a Registry, or hire someone privately.  If you work with a Registry, their level of oversight and responsibility is non-existent.  They send you 1099 employees that may or may not be qualified and are not allowed to provide oversight or continued education.  If an accident occurs in the home it will likely be the homeowner’s responsibility.  If you hire a caregiver privately, you take the same risks.
We believe the only ethical way to provide this service in someone’s home is with the full protection and oversight of an Agency structure. Remember:  Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.
