Wilma Boyd, founder of Preferred Travel joins Community Advisory Board

McKenney Home Care welcomes Wilma Boyd, President and CEO of Preferred Travel of Naples, Inc. to their newly created Community Advisory Board (CAB).
The Advisory Board is a volunteer group of interested community leaders who serve in an advisory role to McKenney Home Care’s managing members.  CAB membership represents the diverse needs and interests of the Collier County community.  Members will be essential partners in achieving the McKenney Home Care mission to provide exceptional in home health care and client centered services in a compassionate and competent manner.

CAB members will be routinely solicited for their views and opinions regarding programming and policies of McKenney Home Care. They will advise on the home health and geriatric care management service needs of the community.
Wilma Boyd, CAB member, is a community leader and well respected business woman. She opened Preferred Travel of Naples in 1984 and it has since become one of the leading and most award-winning travel agencies in the region.  The agency has grown from three employees to over 50 travel specialists from throughout the world.  Today, Preferred Travel of Naples is the largest travel agency in Southwest Florida.
Boyd attributes her success to a positive outlook, tremendous drive and the ability to select outstanding, experienced and caring staff members.  She is active in countless charities, including Junior Achievement, Shelter for Abused Women, Philharmonic League, NCH Healthcare System, The Immokalee Foundation and others, as well as many Naples business organizations. She is known throughout Naples for the inspiring etiquette and motivational classes she conducts for children.
Her career spans a wide range of travel industry experience and contributions. She became a working mother in 1972 while living in Pittsburgh with her husband, three daughters and son. Sensitive to the responsibilities and demands faced by working mothers, Wilma understands the family needs of her employees and others.
