Bob Harden Highlights Music & Memory

On Wednesday, November 12th Bob Harden highlighted Music & Memory on his online radio show, The Bob Harden Show.  Bob interviewed Patrice Magrath who spoke of the upcoming showing of Alive Inside hosted by McKenney Home Care, the Neuropsychiatric Research Center of SW Florida and Terracina Grand.  This documentary film, which won the Sundance Film Festival 2014 Audience Award and the Milan International Film Festival Documentary Award showcases the heartbreaking effects of Alzheimer’s disease and the failure of the medical establishment to effectively reach the hearts and souls of these individuals. The film highlights the work of Dan Cohen founder of the not for profit group Music & Memory and shows how individual personal music can reach the depths of a person and bring them back to life.  Listen to the Interview here.
Patrice also told of the devastating statistics of Alzheimer’s Disease as reported by the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 in 9 Americans have Alzheimer’s Disease, that is  5.2 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
