Event attendees had the opportunity to hear from five presenters on various home healthy living topics including: Safe Steps – Forever Home and Communication Techniques for Persons with Memory Deficits taught by Sandra Buxton, Chief Nursing Officer McKenney Home Care; Falls and Home Safety taught by Jorge Aguilera, Deputy Chief Medical Services and Community Relations – North Naples Fire Control and Rescue; Smart 911 taught by Carolyne Rambosk, Community Outreach Specialist with the Collier County Sheriff’s office; Identity Theft taught by Lt. Chad Parker, Supervisor Financial Crimes Bureau – Collier Country Sheriff’s Office; and Putting Your Financial, Medical/Legal House in Order taught by Jill Ciccarelli Rapps, CFP, Partner – Ciccarelli Advisory Services. Buxton, who facilitated the half-day forum, spoke to the group emphasizing that today’s home health care is really about promoting and creating a ‘healthy home’ – noting that it is much different than home health care model of yesteryear. “It was a great honor to offer to the Friends of Chabad a forum about home healthy living practices,” says Patrice Magrath, co-founder of McKenney Home Care. “We feel it is so important for people in the community to continuously learn more information about home safety and care for their financial, medical and legal well-being in addition to their health,” agrees co-founder Michele McKenney.
